ROC CELEBRATING 50th ANNIVERSARY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR

Rainbow of Challenges is turning 50! What began in a Boy Scout Hut in 1969 serving six children needing special services has now flourished to serving more than 500 adults and children.

ROC now has facilities in Hope, Prescott, Lewisville, and Arkadelphia and provides services to individuals in approximately 35 counties.

“The saying goes ‘time flies when you’re having fun’, and the past 50 years is no exception,” said ROC Vice President of Innovation and Development Jennifer Block. “Doing ‘whatever it takes’ in discovering opportunities that inspire lives’, might be a new way of saying it, but it’s the same as when we first began. That is to say we are helping individuals with developmental disabilities live in the healthiest, happiest, and most independent way possible.”

ROC is encouraging the Hope community and surrounding area to join in celebrating the milestone throughout the year. Many exciting events are planned such as hosting a Community Coffee and a Business after Hours gathering, a “Roc’n Rendezvous” dinner fundraiser, a 50th Anniversary Reception, “Roc’n the Block” party, and ROCtober Fest. Dates for the events will be announced soon.

“Please join us in celebrating our special milestone,” Block continued. “With our community’s unceasing support, we will provide dedicated services to individuals with special needs well into the next fifty years.” For more information, please contact Jennifer Block at Rainbow of Challenges at 870-777-4501.
